AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A plane made an emergency landing just outside of Amarillo Tuesday night.
American Airlines tells ProNews 7 it was a 777 plane that was stationed in Alaska. It said it carried only company crews members and maintenance people, and was headed to Dallas.
A spokesman told us the cargo fire indication light came on, which has happened on that aircraft before. The pilot chose to land at the closest airport, which turned out to be Amarillo.
American Airlines officials tell us the plane was back up in the air on its way to Dallas, Tuesday night.
