CLOVIS, N.M. -- Airmen from Cannon Air Force Base are forbidden from entering several local smoke shops.

The Clovis News Journal reports that airmen caught using or purchasing items from the Smoke Shack, The Smoke Shack Too, and Up in Smoke could face discharge from the military.

The reason, herbal products like spice, salvia and pep. Although these are legal substances Cannon has a policy prohibiting airmen from using those substances. Because they can threaten the readiness and ability to conduct their missions.

Smoke shop owners say the new policy could hurt their business.
