ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - A Roswell man faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 16-year-old boy in February.
Roswell police say 20-year-old James Gomez turned himself in Saturday evening in connection with the stabbing death Zachary Perez.
Gomez was being held on $500,000 bond.
He also faces a charge of tampering with evidence.
Police have said Perez's body was discovered Feb. 13 in a vacant lot in Roswell.
Another man, Jesus Carranza, was arrested shortly after Perez's death and was charged with first-degree murder.
He is to go on trial. Nov. 9.
A criminal complaint says blood was found in the back seat of Carranzas vehicle.
