AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Good news from the High Plains Food Bank, they have a bigger kitchen, which means more meals are going to our area kids through their Kids Café Program.

Since June, 10,000 meals for the Kids Café have been prepared at a kitchen on the Amarillo College east campus. Because of that, more meals are being prepared and sent out through the summer months, when the need is greater. Not to mention it opens up the opportunity for a possible expansion.

"We are able to provide a health and nutritious fresh meal to children year round and to be able to expand into possible other locations," said Leigh Fuller, Kids Café Director.

Fuller adds that 500 meals are currently being prepared and delivered daily out of that kitchen.
