LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Department of Public Safety says a man is dead after he crashed head-on into a commercial motor vehicle on State Road 404 near Las Cruces early Tuesday.
Investigators say the driver of a 1990 Ford Ranger pickup truck was driving eastbound on SR 404 around 6:30 a.m. when he drifted into the westbound lane and crashed head-on with a box type commercial motor vehicle.
The driver of the bigger truck is identified as 32-year-old Ricardo Gonzales of El Paso.
He was transported to Sierra Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup died at the scene. His name has not been released.
