AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A change in the weather this Thursday combined with a maintenance issue being resolved has brightened the power supply for Texas and New Mexico says Xcel Energy.

However the electric company says the storms that came through Wednesday night created some additional maintenance issues on some key power lines.

Xcel says it is assessing the storm issues at this point and will make a final determination on Thursday's system conditions as the noon hour approaches. The company says it still expects high loads through the remainder of the week. Due to this being the company's peak loading season, additional unplanned outages could result in more conservation appeals.
