SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Shoppers in New Mexico can save money this weekend because no tax will be levied on purchases of some clothing, school supplies and computers.

The state's tax holiday starts Friday and runs through Sunday.

Buyers saved more than $4 million by not paying state and local taxes on their purchases during last year's three-day tax holiday, according to the Taxation and Revenue Department.

No gross receipts tax will be imposed on clothing and some shoes up to $100. Also tax-free are purchases of computers - including laptops - costing $1,000 or less, and some computer hardware of $500 or less, such as printers and monitors.

No tax will be levied on school supplies that cost up to $15 each.
