Homicide at Los Dos Compadres Bar
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Preliminary autopsy results show a 26-year-old man found shot outside a bar this weekend died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
But the investigation into who pulled the trigger continues. Police found 26-year-old man Jeremy Lawrence Haywood was shot outside the Los Dos Compadres Bar on the Amarillo Boulevard, Sunday night.
Officers have talked to one man who left the bar shortly before the shooting, but are still trying to identify another man who left around the same time. Police say nothing that happened inside the bar would have led to the shooting.
Police say they hope more witnesses who were at the bar, and left before police arrived will surface.
With all the murders and officers involved shootings over the past few weeks it's been all hands on deck.
"Well, there's not a lot of sleep and we have guys working non stop. So, we're...have to call in assistance with some of the detectives departments to assist us in our investigation and calling CSI officers...the regular ID officers to come in and assist," said Sgt. Kevin Dockery with APD Special Crimes.
