School supply giveaway

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Many groups and organizations have been helping needy parents and children get ready for school with school supplies and immunization shots.

And the gift of giving is still going strong at The Church at Quail Creek, they gave away school supplies and groceries this morning.

This year they offered a service along with the giveaway to allow the community to receive a spiritual uplifting. Senior Pastor, Dr. Stan Coffey, said he feels it' up to them to be responsible for the community.

"We're living in economic times of difficult for many people - many people can't even find work - it's very expensive to send children back to school this is just something that will help them in a small way," said Coffey. The church gave away 250 backpacks full of school supplies along with 500 sacks full of groceries.

They have been doing this giveaway for more than 20 years.
