AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Canyon Independent School District is getting a technology boost, called "Project Share". It's a free internet learning tool developed by the Texas Education Agency to help every school district in Texas.
This fall teachers at CISD will be using the program to share files, learning tools and information amongst themselves. Next year, students K through 12th will join in to turn in homework, blog, join live chats and discussion boards.
"It will let our students be able to communicate with different tools and not rely on just paper and pencil any longer and that they can turn in work that they create digital and turn it in right into the teacher," says Debbie Boyer, CISD Director of Instructional Technology.
Boyers adds that everything on the internet that students will be using will be safe and secure.
