AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo's ambulance service unveiled it's new headquarters Thursday just south of downtown.
It's located in the business park just east of the Tradewind Airport and will house administrative offices and act as a central location for the maintenance of ambulances.
After which, they'll be sent throughout the city to pre-determined positions to help cut down overall response times, according to American Medical Response's, CEO for the south region, Ted Van Horne.
"Everyday medics and EMT's will come here and get the ambulances which have been cleaned, restocked, and then go out into the community and save lives during their shift, and then they can get there in minutes instead of 7 or 8 minutes if they were coming from a central part of Amarillo"
The 17,000 square foot building can also handle any expansion as the need for more ambulance service increases.
