CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A Clovis Wal-Mart has pulled pinatas from store shelves after parents complained they found racy newspaper ads in one.
Store manager Frank Bean tells the Clovis News Journal the pinatas were removed and they plan to contact the supplier to see what they have to say.
Bean says the pinatas are popular cartoon characters made of paper mache and are purchased from a New Mexico company. The pinatas are believed to be made in Mexico.
Beth Johnson says the disturbing discovery was made Sunday while cleaning up after her daughter's party.
She noticed ads of nearly naked women used to stuff and create the pinata.
Johnson says the store offered to refund her money, but she has so far refused their offer.
