AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Independent is following the "green" trend by getting rid of their paper copy. With the move, the Independent launched it's new website Thursday morning, driving followers to be more interactive with community boards and watch streaming video. The Independent's publisher says they are excited to go paperless, opening the door for them to reach a broader audience.

"It gives us the reach for beyond 90 distribution points we had with the printed copy paper. It also gives us an opportunity to go multimedia, which means you can see video online on your website as you had in the past, but now the exciting thing is we've developed the capability to stream live from the field.", says George Schwarz, The Amarillo Independent Publisher.
