AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Every day firefighters and police officers put their lives on the line, sometimes working together to protect the community; but Saturday night, they went head to head.
The 3rd annual battle of the badges pits Amarillo police officers against Amarillo firefighters in an amateur boxing event. There were 12 bouts and in that three rounds that lasted two minutes each, pitting the boys in blue against the boys in red.
While it's fun and games, all the proceeds go to benefit the 100 hundred club, which provides financial help to officers and firefighters and their families in the event of an on-duty death or injury.
