AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Faced with a $1.3 million dollar budget deficit, Potter County Commissioners met Monday morning to vote on a proposed tax rate increase. The commission voted against the increase, leaving it the same as last year.
In other Potter County news, a few weeks ago county Judge Arthur Ware suffered a stroke. At that time, commissioners voted to take turns as part of a monthly rotation, acting as county judge pro-tem. In Monday's meeting the commissioners appointed retired Hansford County Judge Jim Brown, to help with some of the other work that Ware was responsible for.
