AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains kicked off their fall campaign with a rally on Saturday.
While the Girl Scouts may be known for their selections of cookies, this weekend they were preparing for the year ahead.
Troop leader, Cindy Cunningham, tells us that the Girl Scouts has undergone changes in the past year to accommodate today's young women, and that the organization's focus is not just about cookies.
"Girl Scout's wants to bring not only the fun and experiences that we all remember - the camping and the selling cookies but they want the leaders to focus on the leadership skills that the girls will learn through these experiences."
Worldwide there are about 3.6 million girls and adult members of the Girl Scouts.
