John David Gutierrez indicted by Randall County grand jury
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A man who held a woman captive for several weeks has been indicted by a Randall County grand jury. John David Gutierrez was arrested in Alamosa, Colorado in August of 2008.
Police say the woman had taken a trip with Gutierrez but things turned violent along the way. The victim reportedly tried to get help by passing notes to various people. Finally, a store clerk notified police. Officials say the woman who was held hostage for month was from the Amarillo area. They say she also kept a detailed journal about the sexual and physical abuse she endured. The victim also said that during the time she was held hostage she was forced to take drugs.
Gutierrez has been indicted on the following charges, unlawful restraint, and enhanced and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
