AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A panhandle native is making it big in the country music world. Mark Burch grew up in Amarillo playing the keyboards, piano, guitar, and even the accordion.
On Wednesday the ABC Network aired a taped segment where he was one of the performers at the 2010 Country Music Festival featuring big names like Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift.
Burch went to Amarillo high, and was later home schooled, but said it's the people from the Panhandle who helped train him and nurture his love of country music.
"Whatever your dreams are just try to go for it and never taking no for answer. You know a lot of people, um, that I knew said that um don't move to Nashville, it's too tough, which it is tough, but um sometimes you just gotta go for it and see what happens," said Burch in a phone interview from Nashville.
