STRATFORD, TEXAS -- Just after one Wednesday afternoon a Stratford man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle. The Department of Public Safety said that Ty Layton Young, 31, was driving his Ford pickup westbound on County Road 15, 11 miles southeast of Stratford.

Young veered onto the shoulder and lost control of the pickup, causing it to roll. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The pickup continued to roll, rolling over Young, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS said that alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
