AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An afternoon wreck sent several people to the hospital with various injuries. According to police, the driver of a Ford Explorer failed to yield the right of way while pulling out of a private drive on Amarillo Boulevard east, and was struck by a Nissan.
The Nissan hit the SUV in the driver's door, causing the Explorer to then hit a Geo Tracker. The driver of the Explorer, Andrew Pettis, 49, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. While the driver of the Nissan, Valerie Moreno, 17, and four other passengers were taken to a local area hospital with various injuries.
The accident is currently under investigation.
