SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO (AP) -- SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - U.S. and Mexican border governors are gathering in Santa Fe to focus on border security, economic development and energy.

Gov. Bill Richardson and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger are co-hosting the event scheduled to begin Sunday.

Most of the meeting is closed to the press except for a final session on Monday afternoon.

The governors of Arizona and Texas have said they will not attend. Richardson arranged for the event to be held in New Mexico after Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, called off a meeting in Phoenix because of a planned boycott by Mexican governors who objected to Arizona's new immigration law.
