3 Amarillo schools receive prestigious award

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Three Amarillo schools have been given a passing grade by the Texas Business and Education Coalition. Sunrise and Woodlands Elementary along with de Zavala Middle School have been named to the 2010 TBEC Honor Roll.

According to the school district, the TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award obtained for academic excellence in Texas. The Honor Roll recognizes schools with three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects when compared to other schools with similar student populations. The schools will be recognized for their achievements in Austin on November 15.
