AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Half of the $100,000 owed to Potter County by the Reunion Sports Group has been paid, and both checks bounced.
Now Potter county commissioners have called a special meeting to discuss what to do if Thursday's payment isn't covered.
The first two $25,000 checks were returned for insufficient funds, but money was eventually sent to cover them.
Owners had agreed to pay the full $100,000 by the end of this week in three payments. The remaining $50,000 is due Thursday and commissioners will decide what to do after payment is made, or if it bounces on Friday.
"If the monies aren't paid upon request by Friday, then the Dillas contract will come up in question to be revoked. Then, the purchasing agent will go out seeking other teams. The last time we went out, we have a number of proposals that came in," said Potter count commissioner, Joe Kirkwood.
Calls to the Reunion Group's CEO John Bryant were not returned. He is expected to be in the commissioner's meeting on Friday.
