WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS -- An Amarillo businessman is dead and his wife remains in intensive care after a wreck Monday on US 287 near Wichita Falls.

According to DPS troopers Jonathan Park Wolfe, 57, the owner of the Amarillo Dragway, was driving a pickup pulling a box trailer when he apparently struck a dump truck in the lane next to him. This sent Wolfe's pickup into a swerve and careened into a median where it rolled over a stopped DPS unit.

Wolfe and his wife were not wearing their seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle. Jonathan died from his injuries, and his wife Leah Ann was critical but has been upgraded to fair condition, at a Wichita Falls hospital.
