CANYON, TEXAS -- The City of Canyon hosted their annual Chamber barbeque which also helps celebrate West Texas A&M's Homecoming. The barbeque kicked off just before noon on Thursday in the square with 12 businesses and organizations serving up pull-pork, ribs and beans. The barbeque gives everyone a chance to mingle while raising money for the chamber.

"It's a small town at its best. We advertise this really well and it gives the opportunity for many of the businesses to network to come out here eat which together and have kind of a festive spirit about what's fixin to happen over the next few days," said Cheryl Malcolm, Executive Director of Canyons Chamber of Commerce.

Malcom says the barbeque also gave people a chance to see the new grounds around the courthouse.
