AMARILLO, TX -- One of the things you can associate the fall and winter months with is the flu, and doctors recommend getting a flu shot.
One pharmacist says Amarillo has plenty of the vaccine to go around, and as far as getting the shot -- the earlier, the better.
"It's time now. We generally recommend October first and so this is the time to get it. Right now we're not seeing flu, so I guess it's not in everyone's mind to run out and get the flu vaccine, but if you get your vaccine now you'll have sufficient immunity to last you through the season," said Judy Newsom, Texas Tech Center Pharmacist.
Newsom says most pharmacies are offering the vaccination and it's costing anywhere from $25 to $30. .
And if you don't like shots, a flu mist is available -- but it's not recommended for pregnant women.
