AMARILLO, TX -- One area high school is rewarding its students and teachers with a fun day for doing well on the TAKS Test.
River Road High School garnered a "recognized" rating from the Texas Education Agency, and to celebrate students and teachers were able to ditch classes for the day and just have fun.
One official says that it takes two for a thing like this to go right.
"It's our teachers and our students -- it's a combined effort. Our teachers come in early, they stay late after school and so do our students. They are very excited about the day, and we are just going to continue growing at River Road High School and they are going to continue to excel until we're an exemplary campus," said Penny Rosson, River Road High School Assistant Principal.
Students and teachers participated in activities like frog racing, a dunking booth, and even cow patty tossing.
