AMARILLO, TX -- One local church is giving away free stuff and it's all to support the community.

The Southwest Church of Christ of Amarillo is giving away clothing and they do this twice a year.

One official says the turnout every year increases and so do the volunteers.

He also says aside from doing this for the community it teaches others a valuable lesson.

"The giveaways are not only an opportunity for us to serve, but also we have a lot of families that bring their children out to help. So, we look at it as an opportunity to not only service, but to also teach our children how to be respectful of what we've been blessed with," said Bob Herndon, Amarillo Southwest Church Deacon.

The church helps give clothes to about 300 people at each giveaway.

The next one will happen sometime in April.
