SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - An Air Force plan to designate a low-level flight training route across northern New Mexico and southern Colorado may get another New Mexico opponent this week.

Santa Fe County Commission Chairman Harry Montoya says he's introducing a resolution opposing the proposal at Tuesday's meeting.

If the proposal passes, the county would join the city of Las Vegas and the Taos County Commission in officially opposing the plan.

The Air Force wants to fly C-130 Hercules and smaller CV-22 Osprey aircraft from Cannon Air Force Base along a proposed route across northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. The planes would avoid towns, airports and wilderness area but could fly as low as 200 feet off the ground.

The Air Force is holding a series of public meetings as it gathers comments on its plan.
