PAMPA, TEXAS -- Gray County justice of the peace Judge Joe Martinez said he's holding off on an official cause of death for a man found dead in Pampa this week.

Preliminary autopsy results show that Robert Lee "Arley" French, 55, had signs of severe coronary artery disease, previous heart attacks with scaring showing that there had been some damage to his heart. There were also gallstones present, along with a positive test of methamphetamine in his system.

The judge, said he will wait for the entire report before declaring the official cause of death. It could take up to 30 days before the official report is in.

On Wednesday morning, police received a call around 6:50, about a body that was lying beside the walking path in the 500 block of Starkweather street.

When officers arrived they found French's body, just east of the bridge near the walking path of that street.
