AMARILLO, TEXAS -- People as far away as Australia have been gathering at the Amarillo National Center for a gun slinging good time. The Cowboy Mounting Shooting Association has brought their World Finals to Amarillo this week. It's an exciting time for Amarillo and those involved. Dozens of cowboys and cowgirls race for the best time while shooting balloons. And Saturday night the World Champion was crowned. So what makes Amarillo a great place for this competition?
"The people. You folks are really friendly, but it's certainly located in the middle of the United States so we have good interstates getting here from all directions so it makes it easy for both coast," said Dan Plaster, CMSA President.
The final night of the event wrapped up at the Amarillo National Bank Center around 8:00 pm. The event was free to the public.
