AMARILLO, TX -- Kids were able to start their trick or treating for Halloween a little early today.
Goblins, ghosts, little princesses, and lots of Toy Story characters went to John Stiff Park to trick or treat and then see some big balloon action.
Pilots of those hot air balloons handed out goodies before their planned mass ascension flight over Amarillo.
"We have all the crews and all the pilots that absolutely love this event. The reason they're in ballooning is because of the smiles they create, and this way they really get to see those in all the kids," said Chris Jones, Pirates of the Canyon Rally Coordinator.
While the kids had fun trick or treating the hot air balloons did not fly because of the high winds.
All proceeds for the event will go towards the March of Dimes.
