125 pounds of pot seized on I-40 in Potter County

POTTER CO., TEXAS -- A California man is in the Potter County jail after DPS troopers stopped his semi-truck for inspection.

Tuesday morning around 10:25, a trooper stopped the truck on I-40. During the stop consent to search was given, as a result of that search, 125 pounds of marijuana was found. The pot valued at $120,000 was found in the sleeper area of the truck inside four large bags.

The driver, Collin Patton, 60, of El Cajon, California was arrested and booked for possession of marijuana, a second degree felony punishable by 2-20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Authorities also seized the semi as a criminal instrument.
