AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A special treat for Region 16 students as they go to sit and observe 2 different Texas Supreme Court hearings. Hundreds of local junior and seniors patiently watched at the Globe News Center as each case was presented and how the proceedings took place. After the hearings, students were able to ask the Justices' questions about the proceedings and cases. Students say it was exciting to see, as well as educational.

"It's inspiring to see 2 individuals who are passionate about a subject and knowing so much about it and really giving a good argument and so that is inspirational to learn more about government,"said Paige Lynn, Bushland High School Senior.

"I think that you hear it a lot but we are the future of america so it's important to be informed about government and how it works and everything so that we can lead a better country," added Lynn.

One of the cases that seemed to grab the attention of the students was that of a man who was trying to get some financial compensation after serving time for a crime he was wrongfully convicted of.
