AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Working Ranch Cowboy Association is kicking off its 15th Annual Ranch Rodeo. The association invited 40,000 of its closest friends to compete in events like branding and bronc riding, both chores that real working ranch cowboys do every day.
New this year is a display that's lined with people the rodeo has been able to help. The rodeo is dedicating this year to its 15 years of giving.
"The funds are for working ranch cowboys and their families and any of those folks that have problems in times of need the crisis fund is there to them and then our scholarship is for any of their kids or wives or themselves if they want," said Randy Whipple, WRCA President.
The rodeo kicks off Thursday and runs until 2 p.m. Sunday.
It's free to walk into the Civic Center and see the more than 300 booths and exhibits plus the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses. If you want a full list of events for the rodeo, click here.
