AMARILLO, TX -- The Working Ranch Cowboys Association was started 15 years ago and they have been in town for four days, but today the WRCA rodeo is wrapping things up.
These cowboys compete in events like branding and bronc riding -- both chores that real working cowboys do every day.
The association was started to help the working ranch cowboy and his family with things like education and funds to help those in need.
Association Manager, Mandy Morton, says the WRCA isn't just about rodeo, but also about education and helping out.
"It's the most important thing. I mean this rodeo is a primary fundraiser for scholarship and the crisis fund. So many people think we're just here to put on a rodeo, but there's always a purpose behind it and it's those two items."
Cowboys and spectators have come near and far for this annual event -- like New York and even the United Kingdom.
The four day event is estimated to bring in $2.6 million into the city economy.
The WRCA will be back again next year, November 10 through 13.
