Mark Stroebel, appointed as Dumas superintendent
DUMAS, TEXAS -- Dumas schools have a new superintendent in charge. The Dumas ISD Board of Trustees appointed Mark Stroebel to the position at its Monday meeting.
Stroebel will succeed retiring Superintendent Larry Appel who is completing his 20th year as superintendent.
Stroebel will begin his new position on January 1 in the coming year. He has served the district as assistant superintendent for the past six years, and before that he was the principal of Dumas Jr. High for 13 years. His wife, Jo, is a teacher with the district. They are the parents of two daughters and a son.
