AMARILLO, TEXAS -- People who decorate like crazy for the holidays, there is probably at least one on your block. And many of them like to think they're helping all of us celebrate.
Having done lights for the last fifteen years, some people might call him a present day Clark Griswold, but Steve Patton just enjoys the holiday spirit.
"Well I've always done it for the children and for celebrating the birth of Jesus."
But celebrating such a special birthday takes plenty of preparation.
"It takes nine, 12-16 hour days but with the work divided it makes it a lot easier."
One local man liked it so much, he decided to join in and help this year.
"I had driven by quite a few of the last years before I actually got a chance to form a relationship with the Patton's and just I really have enjoyed being a part of it and seeing how it all comes together," said Tye Jackson a local youth minister from West Presbyterian church.
No worries to those of you who think lights before Thanksgiving is too soon because Steve isn't going to fire up his lights until Thanksgiving night. And neighbors, Steve Patton also has this promise. He'll turn out the lights by 10p.m. on week nights, and by midnight on the weekends.
You can find the lighted house in the 2600 block Hawthorne, off Georgia, so swing by and check them out.
