Amarillo police investigate brutal attack

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Updated story: Suspect in Saturday's attack identified 

Amarillo Police are investigating an attack that has left one man severely hurt. The Randall County Sheriff's Office, which is assisting in the investigation, says around 9:00 am Saturday morning an Amarillo police officer spotted a man at the corner of Western and Catalpa laying in the grass covered in blood. They say the man was the victim of a brutal attack early Saturday morning where the suspect beat him with a pistol several times then stole his vehicle. Danny Alexander with Randall County says they were informed the suspect was inside a trailer near that corner. After about an hour on scene Amarillo officer's were able to lure the suspect out and arrest him without any incident and take him into custody.
