AMARILLO, TX -- Yesterday was the first day for a movement called Small Business Saturday, and the purpose for the cause is to support local businesses who in turn help support the local economy.

We went to Raffkinds to ask if that movement affected their business, and they said it's too early to tell, especially since this weekend is usually busy anyway.

However, they did say every lit bit helps and they are expecting a jump in sales compared to last year.

"Hopefully we have the merchandise people are looking for that's what we are hoping for we got a great selection of of things just really good merchandise is probably the best merchandise we've had in a couple of of years it seems like a great selection so hopefully its what people are looking for," said David Allee, Raffkinds Manager.

Many stores we spoke with are also expecting a jump, and will be extending their hours the next couple of weekends for Christmas shopping.
