AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The 26th Annual Farm and Ranch Show is starting to take shape at the Amarillo civic center as preps for Tuesday's opening got started Monday morning.
An estimated 30,000 visitors are expected to drop in on this year's show which runs Tuesday through Thursday.
"It is one of the largest such shows in the U.S., with more than 450 vendors and their equipment on hand, which offers you something you can't find in a catalog or online," said show manager, Kristie Crone.
"The biggest reason is it's fun and more enjoyable...you can actually see the product you're going to buy or are considering purchasing. It's fun to put your hands on it, all the equipment and see what it's all about."
Vendor Randy Sluter agrees, "The relationship you build can be long term...lots of leads, they may not buy today, but 6 months from now, we'll see sales as a result of this show. Just the exposure..it's hard to measure, but each year we see increased sales as a result of the farm show."
Tickets are only $2 at the door, with the proceeds going to the FFA.
