Pampa police investigate domestic violence

PAMPA, TEXAS -- According to the Pampa Police Department, officers responded to a medical call in the 800 block of Locusts at 3:00 pm Wednesday afternoon.

While in route to the address, officers were told that the suspect had hit the victim in the head with a shovel. Officers said a protective order was in place to protect Brenda Sims from Joe Sims.

Joe Sims was detained for further investigation and later booked into jail, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of a protective order.

Brenda Sims was transported to Pampa Regional Medical Center and treated for her injuries, she has since been released.
