AMARILLO, TX -- Music was in the air tonight at the Globe News Center for the Performing Arts.
173 area middle and high school students competed in auditions to have a chance to perform in tonight's "All Region Orchestra Concert".
Students who made the cut are good enough to rehearse only a day and half and still produce a stellar performance.
"This orchestra has the very top musicians, so we're able to choose more difficult music that lends itself to the talents of these top players. Those players then get a chance to rise to that challenge and play some really nice literature," said David Hinds, All Region Orchestra Chair.
Players and performances were broken up into two parts -- high school and middle school.
All students who made the orchestra were given plaques of recognition.
