AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Some news outlets are reporting that that Warren Chisum, from the Texas Panhandle, is dropping out of the race for the Speaker of the Texas House.
However, Pronews 7 has confirmed with his office that is not the case, we are told that Chisum is still very much in the race. We are told the rumors stem from a recent report where there was a misunderstanding. Again, Pronews 7 has confirmed that Rep. Chisum is still in the race for the speaker's position.
Chisum is running against current Speaker Joe Straus and Rep. Ken Paxton.
