AMARILLO, TEXAS -- This past Saturday, over 1,000 people, 1,135 to be exact met at the Eveline Rivers Christmas Project workshop and braved the fierce winds to help bring Christmas cheer and joy to thousands of area kids.

Rivers told ProNews 7 those volunteers delivered just over 9,000 gifts. Crews from ProNews 7 were among those delivering on Saturday, delivering gifts to 15-20 families in our area. We can say first hand, a big thanks to all of those who turned out, we believe it shows just how generous "The Panhandle Spirit" can be.

Rivers said another 250 gifts were delivered on Sunday, and another round of gifts will be delivered later this month.
