AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Have you ever wanted to get behind the wheel of a snowplow?
Well people had their chance today as TxDot had one of their snow plows on display at the Westgate Mall.
The demonstration was a part of the their "Don't take a chance... Don't crowd the plow" campaign.
The safety of motorists and TxDot employees is their primary concern especially during the winter.
The display was an effort to help convince area motorists to back off during winter events.
"We're giving people who come to the mall today an opportunity to get behind the wheel of a snow plow and see what our plow operators can and more importantly can't see," said Paul Braun, TxDot spokesman.
There was also a TxDot plow operator on hand to answer any questions from motorists,
and talk about the plow and difficulties they face while trying to clear area roadways.
