CLAYTON, NEW MEXICO (AP) -- A large search for a missing man has been underway for days in Union County.
The Union County Sheriff told Pronews 7 they received information that David Montoya could be threatening to take his own life Tuesday morning. A search effort to find Montoya was launched, which focused on a ranch 7 miles east of Des Moines. Montoya was last seen at a home on that ranch around 11:00 that morning. The sheriff said the search has been extensive, using search dogs on the ground and aircraft in the skies from the New Mexico State Police. However, officials have they have found no sign of Montoya yet. The sheriff believed Montoya was born in 1963, which would make him around 48 years old. The sheriff is still holding out hope Montoya can be found safely.
Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the Union County Sheriff’s office at 575-374-2583 or the New Mexico State Police at 505-827-9300.
