AMARILLO, TEXAS -- One thing that's not up in the air the annual mud bogs event.
It is now on as the West Texas Outlaws were granted a mass gatherings permit to host the race.
A mud bog is a drag race between trucks through a swamp of mud.
And is an event that has been going on annually for almost 40 years.
It's an event that almost didn't happen, because of the permit but is now on thanks to the help of the Potter County Commissioners, Alphonso Vaugn in particular.
The West Texas Outlaws were very happy about the out come.
"It was a lot of excitement we were all just astounded it was unbelievable. I'm just glad we could work with them and they could work with us and hopefully this event will keep on. This'll be the 38th year and hopefully we can go for years to come," said Jay Hicks, President of the West Texas Outlaws.
As it stands right now though the sand drags are off because they didn't have anyone available to put on the event.
