SANTA FE, NM (AP) -- Gov. Susana Martinez is proposing to sell a state jet as part of her budget proposals to the Legislature. Martinez said that she hasn't flown in the jet and doesn't plan to before it's sold...and the state can save $3 million by getting rid of the jet.
Former Gov. Bill Richardson's administration bought the Cessna jet in 2005 for $5.5 million.
The jet is part of a fleet of three aircraft operated by the General Services Department for flying government officials and workers around the state as well as outside New Mexico.
