AMARILLO, TEXAS -- ProNews 7 has confirmed that former Amarillo City Commissioner Paul Harpole intends to run for Mayor of Amarillo.
Harpole says that he encouraged Mayor Debra McCartt to seek reelection, and if she had, he would have run for a city commssion seat instead.
He wouldn't comment further today, as his official announcement is scheduled for Wednesday.
